Prof. Seema Bhadauria, (Recipient of National Award for Women Development through Application of Science and Technology) previously served as Associate Professor at Raja Balwant Singh College, Agra is known for exceptional teaching caliber, research achievements, outstanding contributions excellent track record, patents and technology development and commercialization,as a distinguished contributor to the growth of science in the country on rural grass root level.

Research Contribution:

Current area of Research is Nanobiotechnological applications in the field of Biodeterioration, Biodegradation and Bioremediation of industrial effluents and cultural materials (stone, paintings, monuments ,walls, buildings, paper, plastics, sculptures ,library items), antimicrobial nanomaterials and peptides synthesis, bioreclamation of wastelands, heavy metal and drought- alkalinity stress in soils, biofuel production from potato and petha wastes, nanoherbal bandages and nanoherbal drug synthesis against multidrug resistant microbial strains. Development of innovative soil, water and seed testing kits for farmers widely being used under Prime Minister’s SOIL HEALTH CARD MISSION and women and farmer friendly mobile vermiunits for urban and rural areas, biosensors for phenol and pesticides determination. Expert in fungal taxonomy and plant pathogen identification, Biofertilizer production, organic farming and vermicompost production using wastes. Research has been honored by Central and State Ministers and Secretary of Department of Science and Technology for meritorious innovations commenced in two decades on development of innovative soil testing kit, converting petha waste into vermicompost and bioethanol, developing bioformulations, synthesizing nanomaterials, reclamation of wasteland, biocleaning of stones,generating skill and entrepreneurship among students of rural and urban through science and technology. Other important contributions like- Micro propagation of medicinal, rare and economically important plants and in-situ and ex-situ conservation of medicinal plants, earthquake prediction by plants, plant disease proliferation under agrometrology and controlling pathogens and microbes growing on plants and their products, pesticides, phenol, hydrocarbons, plastic, electronic, library items, food products and herbal deterioration.Had been Principal Investigator of 26 international(5) and national projects(21) ,2 Patents awarded and 4 applied,2 technologies commercialized, 4 technologies developed ,Mentored PDF projects- 2 women scientists, 3 ICMR and DST -PDF projects .

Innovations in education:

 Expert in delivering INTERACTIVE TEACHINGS that include power point presentation, audio-video teaching, on-line lecture. provides orientation and rehearsal for enriching students for better performance, Journals, literature surfing, statistical training, computer knowledge, Access to Departmental library, Seminars, Guest lectures, Access to research labs for handling major instruments, Text books, UNESCO-educational CDs, Reference books, internet, Experts, monographs, Floras, NET/ GATE Question bank, Univ. question bank, NDL-IIT Kharagpur, Botanical collection tour, Notes, visuals, plant materials. Developed CD-ROMs of plant details and also prepare posters/ items for museum. First to start digital plant taxonomy in the college and Established and maintaining plant health clinic in the department.

 Univ and College development role:

Performed the duties of the Head and Associate Professor of Botany, the Coordinator of IQAC of the college(since last 10 years) ,Nodal Officer of Community College, Convener of UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN (MHRD), College beautification, ISR activities, Green Initiatives, Co-Coordinator of NAAC team ,member of RUSA, AISHE ,UGC cell ,research advisory Board , Professor in-charge of the BBA/BCA department, Member of Academic council of the college Management, Coordinator of UPRTOU, Allahabad, Coordinator of Department of Biotechnology, Editor (Science) of the college Journal and Member Editor (Science) of the Agra university Journal. Member of Board of studies in PG and Ph.D. courses of ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICOLOGY OF DR.B.R.AMBEDKAR UNIVERSITY, AGRA. DSIR recognition for the college and DST- FIST (L-I and L-II) grant for the department is due to her credit.

Professional expertise: 

11 post graduate students were awarded JRF-NET (UGC-CSIR) fellowship and 2 ARS(ICAR) and joined research lab for Ph.D. Supervised 45 and 5 (on-going registered) students for Ph.D. degree on various aspects of science and technology out which 18   are women candidates.
