With the grace of the Almighty God, I on behalf of the College & Balwant Educational Society, feel great honour in welcoming you to Balwant Vidyapeeth Rural Institute, Bichpuri, Agra. I express deep gratitude to our founder Raja Balwant Singh ji – philanthropist in the field of education ,our  Founder Principal cum Director Dr. Ram Karan Singh – an Unparalleled Educationist and thereat Balwant Educational Society members for their  vision and the powerful sense of mission that has developed this higher education institution ever marching towards excellence. Royal legacy stoned by our former managers, principals, and teachers, members of the non-teaching staff, alumni and well-wishers with their hard work has made this institution a leading centre of higher education with ‘B’ grade reaccreditation by NAAC.

On Founder’s Day, 21 September 1953, Dr. Sampurnanand, Education Minister of U.P., laid the sacred foundation stone of the Shri  Balwant Vidyapeeth at Bichpuri beneath which are enshrined handfuls of earth from the Bodhi tree and the Deer park at Sarnath, fragments of stone from Takshila  and Nalanda and pieces of rocks from fort of Chittor and Haldighati to convey all that is best in Indian culture in domain of morality and manners, knowledge, research and freedom and valour and fidelity to inspire the generations of the institution with ever prevailing pristine glory. Balwant Vidhyapeeth Rural Institute (B.V.R.I) was established in 1956 under the National Council for Rural Higher Education of the Government of India , New Delhi in  the predominantly rural area surrounding the college where people depend mainly on agriculture for a way of living. The founders of this higher education institution as well as the society around it are equally ambitious about this institution. The institution is built of their dreams and aspirations. We have a strong student population, talented teaching faculty, and a dedicated management team with whose dedication it has been imparting quality education (UG & PG) to the rural area. It cannot be denied that we are on the threshold of vast changes in the educational scenario accepting the New Education Policy-2020. In order to address the changes, the college has undertaken major programs through which we can rededicate ourselves to the mission with which the college was established.

Dr. Kalam rightly said, “अगर तुम सूरज की तरह चमकना चाहते हो तो तुम्हें पहले सूरज की तरह जलना होगा “ and “dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that does not let you sleep. Excellence is a continuous process and not an accident”.

I strongly believe that desire and determination go hand in hand to attain excellence and accomplish goals. Determined people with a ‘can do’ attitude are unstoppable and this is the secret of our success. Constant innovation, inclusive education, harnessing technology and invigorating pedagogical practices are some of the strengths which set us apart. We empower our children to develop their passions and ignite their young minds. With a positive attitude they are able to march forth with self-confidence and reach the pinnacle of success. Our aim is to create dynamic, versatile, confident and competent personalities who stand out in the crowd and make their presence felt. The world will automatically change when we effect a change in our work, sincerity, dedication and behavior. Swami Vivekananda rightly said, “be determined not to curse anyone or anything outside; not to lay blame upon anyone outside, but stand up and lay the blame on yourself”.

Dear Students, “A desire can change nothing, a decision can change something but a determination can change everything”. The rural youth, from its side, need to make the best possible use of the facilities being provided at their door steps, acquire the skills of a responsible citizen and finally start contributing in approaching the challenges facing the contemporary societies. This College shall be aspiring to serve as a facilitator and service/technology provider for all the interested and motivated students of the area and try to build the necessary infra-structure, services and facilities to equip them with the required skills and an urge to compete and contribute alongside their better advantaged urban counterparts in the noble task of the service to humanity. The college with IQAC, mentoring career counseling, placement cell etc. promotes quality education and makes the students competent and confident leaders. The college NSS and NCC activities help the students for their overall development and to make them as good citizens.  We commit to mentor you as your mentees.

In this post-covid scenario, we need to equip this generation of students with online platforms.Teachers need to restrict the time of our students spent on social media and insist on reading extensively, conversing, discussing, and formulating their own opinions. Our students should be educated on a strong code of ethics to distinguish between right and wrong and then have the courage to stand up for what they believe in. I urge all the teachers to create appropriate, meaningful and participative learning situations, inculcating life skills in the impressionable students and appreciating their smallest efforts with all generosity and broadness of vision. At last but not least, I wish  you all the best  and hope  that  the years you  spend  in this institution  will prove  quite  meaningful  and significantly  valuable  and you will achieve  success .
